Case Study - Hall's Fell

This is the most popular and prominent of Blencathra’s southern ridges. The work, lower down the fell below the rocky ridge, will involve stabilising the eroding gullies and forming sustainable, well drained lines through the heather. The intention is to do this by hand without the need for stone. Only a small amount of work is planned for the first year as this is difficult terrain and we need to gauge the success before doing a larger amount.

This work is being led by our Northern Team.
